Five ways to find fitness motivation from within yourself:

  1. Remember how good you feel after a workout

  2. Make your fitness goals SMART

  3. Set up an exercise schedule and stick to it

  4. Make fitness fun by working out with friends

  5. Find your “why.”

1. Remember how good you feel after a workout!

You need to think about why you are working out in the first place! By finding some great reasons, it can be easier to get motivated and enjoy your workouts more. Being healthy makes us look better, feel better, and live longer.

Exercise has also been known to lower stress levels and improve our moods. These things can all sound like little bonuses that you don’t need, but trust me, they make life much more enjoyable! Think of them as ‘little gifts’ for taking care of yourself! There’s nothing wrong with enjoying some extra benefits from working out.

2. Make your fitness goals SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely)

A lot of people set fitness goals that are too vague or unspecific. For example: “I want to be healthier!” Well, what does that mean?

It’s so much easier to become motivated when you have specific plans on what you want to accomplish. Setting SMART fitness goals is a great way to stay excited about your workouts! Here are some examples of SMART fitness goals: I will

– Run 2 miles without stopping

– Lose 10 pounds in 3 months

– Lift five more pounds than last week

3. Set up an exercise schedule and stick to it!

You need to make time for working out – even if it’s only 30 minutes a day. Schedule your workouts like you would with school or work.

If you know that you will see your trainer at 8 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, stop wasting time trying to find the motivation to get up early. The sooner you can work out, the more energy you’ll have for all of your tasks throughout the day!

By setting up a schedule and sticking to it, you will find yourself naturally getting excited about your workouts. You’ll start looking forward to the days when you get to go!

4. Make fitness fun by working out with friends!

The buddy system is still alive and well! It’s much easier to motivate yourself when someone else is relying on you. Plus, it’s more exciting when other people around are excited about working out, too.

So you can help cheer each other on, give each additional support, and make some great memories together! Remember: finding perfect workouts is all about trial and error. So keep trying to find new friends looking for the same type of workouts that you are!

5. Find your “why”!

What is the primary motivation you have for wanting to become more fit? Is it because you want to look better in your clothes? Have more energy to play with your kids?

Get specific here. The more detailed your “why” is, the easier it will be to find fitness motivation within yourself! So do some brainstorming and make a list of all the reasons you could think of for working out. Then narrow them down to one big motivating reason. It will also help you figure out what type of workouts you should be doing.

For example, I want to get fit because I want to increase my energy level and keep up with my kids! So, that means that it would be best to find workouts like running or swimming. Working out with the beach in mind is a great way to have fun! Working out in a pool might also make exercising less boring for you, so consider this “why” when trying to find the perfect workout for your lifestyle.

Final Thoughts:

Now get out there and give these tips a try! See if they don’t help motivate yourself to work out! And remember: It’s never too late to start working out. The benefits are priceless, and you won’t regret taking the first step in your journey to a healthier lifestyle.

Also, one final reminder: There’s nothing wrong with setting SMART fitness goals that reward yourself for making healthy choices! Why not buy yourself something special when you reach all of your small milestones? Reward yourself along the way so that you’re always excited about working out. Just make sure it’s worth it!
