Muhammad Ali – The Boxing Legend

While there are many sports legends, few have made such an impact both in and out of the ring as Muhammad Ali. Born Cassius Clay in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1942, Ali started boxing when he was just 12 years old. He went on to win six Golden Gloves championships, two national titles, and an Olympic gold medal.

But it was his professional career that made him a household name. He became the world heavyweight champion in 1964, and he went on to win that title two more times. He was also known for his showmanship, often joking with opponents and reporters before a fight. He even changed his name to Muhammad Ali after converting to Islam.
In addition to his boxing career, Ali was also known for his social activism. He was an outspoken critic of the Vietnam War and racism in America.
